Applications
Cantilevered Roped Hydro

The roped hydraulic elevator with LEISTRITZ's cantilever sling design is gaining more popularity in the
United States market (the roped-hydro drive was included in the 1989 Addend of the ASME/ANSIA 17.1 Code)
LEISTRITZ Model LHBS is a proven design which has been internationally used for many years. It has all of
the advantages of the cantilevered sling with three door options and maximum platform size, however always
remains entirely holeless at any car rise with standard overhead and pit. Roped-hydro cantilevered designs
are used with car travels up to 90feet and capacities ranging from 800 to 3500 lbs. The LEISTRITZ LHBS is
a cost effective and installation friendly design, a result of thousands of units worldwide.
LEISTRITZ has minimized the inherent problems originating with the compressibility and temperature fluctuations
of oil. This is accomplished by using smaller cylinders to limit oil volume, thus operating at higher pressures.
In addition to a sling, cylinder and power unit, LEISTRITZ packages also include all other necessary components
such as wall brackets, platform, safeties, as well as pipe rupture valve and overspeed governor.
The traveling sheave is routed by its own guide frame and shoes running off the main guide rails.
Traveling sheaves are designed with safety factors for excess load conditions and are equipped with
long life ball bearings. The bearings together with the special guide shoes provide a very smooth ride.
In addition, the single-stage cylinder utilizes higher working pressure to contribute to the smooth
ride quality.
